Always wanted a warmer climate due to some allergy problems.
I was lucky enough to be transferred from my company in Chicago to the San Diego branch. And I couldn't be happier.

Was on my way to L.A. in 1974 to visit my mom during xmas break from ASU, when I just happened to stop at the Motel 6 in Escondido to spend the night. After looking around the next morning, I realized what a quaint little town it was with the hills filled with avocado and orange orchards as far as the eye could see.

A year later i moved my mom there to recover from an illness and she loved it so much. I stayed there for 5 yrs before returning to ASU to work on my graduate degree. Been wanting to return ever since I left, and am just not about to realize that dream.

Born and raised in LA and came down to SD for a wedding; didn't get back there till after I joined the Navy in the 70s. Now I will return to stay very soon because of weather, lifestyle and just being back in a great city in CA.

My parents brought me here from upstate NY when I was 3, in 197... something. I've lived here most of my life with brief stints in other cities, and have no intention of leaving. I might move someplace else for a year or two, but San Diego will always be home, and I will always be back

For a multitude of reasons, I had to get away from where I was living and had planned to relocate to LA, because i had some job prospects there. Then my friend and her young daughter decided to move with me, but she could transfer to San Diego, so we decided it was more important for her to have a secure job (having a small child and all) than me, so we landed in SD. Actually, before I came here I had never even heard of the place, how funny is that? This was back in the late 70's just preceding the big migration and boom here. I was lucky because I got a job in 4 days and was much happier than being in LA. It was a struggle financially though because I had to take a hit in salary.

Wanted to move for some time for family/weather and b/c I just like the area. Best job I could find was also in the area, so it became a no brainer.
