Default "Sorrento Valley", San Marcos, "rancho Bernardo" and so on..please advice

hi all,
i wanto to relocate in SD, after finding a serious job opportunity..So i'm 33 y.o. electronic engineer, with experience in business development and project management..i thought about focusing my job searching at "IT areas" near SD. So after a couple of long time vacations in SD, i can remember Sorrento Valley, San Marcos and Rancho Bernardo..can anyone suggest me anything else? do you know any website who collects a list of companies in that zones?
any suggestion will be appreciated.
Francesco

There isn't much housing in Sorrento Valley but the nearby Mira Mesa area can be nice. Especially if you stay in the west Mira Mesa area which is about 3-4 miles from the ocean. That's the newer part of Mira Mesa near the 805 freeway while the older (built in the late 70's so really not that old) section of Mira Mesa is to the east. Sorrento Valley doesn't start until west of the 805 and there are literally no houses there just industrial parks.

"IT Areas" covers a lot of ground.

Sorrento Valley has a lot of businesses; so does Rancho Bernardo. San Marcos has a few, but I wouldn't even consider that if you're looking for IT sorts.

Problem with Rancho Bernardo: there's nothing out there. You have to go to a connecting community to do any real shopping or eating out. Problem with Sorrento Valley is it's somewhat overcrowded.

IME most of the northern areas are like this. Certainly Rancho Penasquitos has even less than RB. But North County Fair isn't that far, for shopping. And we've been known to go *to* RB for eating out! (BernardO's)
