I'm thinking I should start wearing a mask like what they are doing in Mexico City already.

Areas of infection in the USA is Kansas, Texas, California(with San Diego and Imperial county as the epicenter) and New York. It also spread as far away as France and New Zealand via LAX so it's only a matter of time before it truly spreads worldwide.

Fatalities so far is concentrated in Mexico, with 81 likely deaths from 1000 cases.

Wash your hands frequently, everyone!

remember the avian flu crisis a few years back?

Seems like another way for the TV news to make people nuts to me.

Yeah, but this one is different. The avian flu was only infecting people mostly via direct contact with birds, and had a 60% mortality rate. This one is infecting by jumping between people now and is partly avian.

I was terribly sick for 12 days with the flu (not sure if swine or not, but it might have been). Trust me, you don't want this thing, whatever it is...and it's going around. I haven't been that sick in years.

I have two brothers who live in Elcajon, both are VERY sick with some sort of flu and they knows other who are too. My older brother is a stubburn old mule and won't go to the doctor either! He is staying home though, so as not to spread it to coworkers. My brother has not missed work in over 20 years, so I know he is really damn sick.

Tonight, I'm coming down hard with something too.

I've heard about a kid at SDSU having it, although no concrete evidence as of yet.

So far it's about doubled every day as far as infections. Mexico is getting hammered with more than 4000 cases. The first US death has been confirmed in Texas.
