Lemon Grove - Berry Street Park area
I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about the area in Lemon Grove that's bordered by Berry Street Park, Massachusetts, Madera St and 69th St.
My husband and I are looking at a home in that area, and while I've checked crime maps and the sex offender registery (all clear for the most part), I know that it doesn't always say everything about the area.
We're not looking for a perfect neighborhood, just something quiet, family friendly and where homeowners take care of their property.
Thanks for any help!

It's an older, quiet, lower-to-middle class area. Like most of San Diego's "middle class" area it is mostly a mix of military retirees, their grown children, current active duty military, some immigrant families. Homes range from well-kept to unkept, it can change from block to block or house to house. That particular area of Lemon Grove is OK and the Encanto area to the west is OK too. As you go farther south and west it goes downhill. The shopping district on broadway is not particularly attractive but has most of the stuff you will need.

Thanks Sassberto for the info! It's really helpful...! We live in Paradise Hills right now, which we feel very comfortable at. What you described sounds a lot like "home" to us. Thanks again
