Default $15000 decent, safe condo near san diego?

I would like to buy a small (800-900 sq ft) condo in one of the outlying SanDiego areas. Can I expect ot get a condo in a safe area, and one that doesn't need major renovation for $150,000 or less? What are some areas to look? What are areas to avoid? I've seen condos for 89,000 and up in areas like spring valley, el cajon and santee. would these be complete dumps in bad areas?

In my experience, 800-900sq ft in a good area for 150k is REALLY pushing it. I have seen some newer ~600 sq ft condos for around that price in the North Pacific Beach area (92109). To see prices, check Realtor.com! In my opinion, any condo in San Diego that costs less than 150k is either a dump or in a very sketchy area.

Yes, you can. It will probably be 1br or a studio. Look in Mira Mesa and Rancho Bernardo.

Hillcrest/North Park are popular among condo people, though whether those two are safe, is debatable.

Also check out Otay Ranch.
