There are a few threads you can search on that topic already, but I am also looking in that area. It is a great area! Affordable, sort of rural, safe and very pretty.

Bonita is a great area. It's safe and diverse, close to plenty of shopping and everyday conveniences (grocery stores, movie theaters, Plaza Bonita Mall, etc). Not cookie-cutter like nearby Eastlake, Rancho Del Rey, San Miguel Ranch, etc. There use to be alot of horse trails and ranches in the area, but of course, those days are long gone.

There's a popular jogging course (3.3 miles) that circles a park/golf course just off Bonita Road. If I chose to live in the South Bay once again, it would probably in this area.

I really like Bonita, and will consider that area if we purchase a home in San Diego. One thing we sometimes do - and this might be odd - is go and feed the geese on the gold course off Bonita Rd. A very nice, central area close to the south bay.
