Para - Gliding
Hang Gliding
Wind Surfing
Hot Air Ballooning .... if you've got the money for these.

Spring time, travel to the desert for the flower bloom
Fall time, travel to Julian for the Apple Pie
August travel to the mountains away from the city lights to watch the meteor showers.

Sand Castle Building
Point Loma Lighthouse ... bring a jacket - it's c-COLLDD out there.

If you're fat and old go to Blacks beach and hang out nude... see if people rush up to you and try to push you back out to sea because they think you've accidentally beached yourself...

Surf at Sunset Cliffs and nearly drown. Get rescued by the Coast Guard.

Climb down seaside cliffs somewhere off the beaten path and get stuck. Get rescued by the Fire department.

Climb over the spiked iron fence and climb to the top of the Mt Soledad Cross. Fall off and impale yourself on said spiky fence. Ain't lying - I saw it on TV.

A great list for newcomers!! I would add

- Del Mar Thoroughbred Racing in August
- Belmont Park (Mission Beach roller coaster)
- Lefty's pizza (great Chicago style)
- Day trips to Mexico
- Whale watching in February
- Haunted Hotel (or Del Mar Fairgrounds haunted hayride) in October
- Irvine Spectrum Mall (one hour away)

Amusement parks were mentioned, but in particular Knott's Berry Farm is quite inexpensive (compared to the mouse house), and there are lots of waterparks around.

Was La Jolla mentioned as a destination? Lots to see there ... don't forget the steps down to the underground cave!
