Default Fresh homemade tortillas somewhere other than Old Town

Is there anywhere I get fresh homemade tortillas in town, to-go, in a place that is not located in Old Town? I was going to Coyote's but I hate trying to park there / navigate gawking tourists.

Someone recommended Porkytown, but I also heard that they're not homemade there. Closer to Mission Valley / Allied Gardens, the better... thanks!

Most tortillas I've found in San Diego are more like 'wraps' - thin and tastless.
I miss the bready tortillas my mother-in-law makes.

Corn or flour? Makes a *huge* difference. I haven't actually had a 'wrap', but from the looks of them they're done using flour tortillas.

Flour tortillas are the equivalent of white bread. Not dissing them ... just observing. Corn tortillas have more nutritional value.

Sorry that I can't offer any real answer to the OP's question. I, too, would love to be able to buy fresh tortillas (corn, not flour). I used to buy masa from Northgate Gonzales market and cook them myself. But that's a bit of a hassle. More recently, we're making do with Trader Joe's corn tortillas. (Not the ones with basil in them ... those taste weird in a not wonderful way.)

Wraps are commercials things made under the guise of a super flat flour tortilla - nasty things. They are either dried out or really doughy. I won't even acknowledge them as food.

And any tortilla (corn or flour) that is adulterated with other stuff, like basil, definitely taste weird.

I attempted to get a recipe for flour tortillas from my mother-in-law - very difficult as she doesn't measure anything. But I'll try it and let you know how they come out.
