Default Moving to la mesa -- some questions

Hey! I am moving to la mesa in aug and I am very excited...I have a few questions though. I want to transfer to sdsu but need a couple of more credits, does anyone have recommendations of which community college to go to until then? I based my move on the roommates, so I don't know too much about la mesa :/ How far away is it from the beach, good upscale shopping, and are people generally friendly ( I wont really know anyone ) Also living in la mesa (I am 20) will there be a good party scene? Thanks for all the help, I've been to sdsu a couple of times..but I have stayed in la jolla each time and love it there but I am thinking la mesa is pretty different from la jolla...thanks again!

Honestly I'm not sure if there's much in the way of nightlife in La Mesa itself, but you're not very far via 8 to the city, so you should be okay. The major mall in La Mesa is Grossmont Center, which is pretty nice... Fashion Valley Mall in Mission Valley is only about a 10-15 minute drive away as well.

La Mesa is a great place to live! Grossmont Community Collage is the closest for you. It's a nice school, very friendly.

There is no night life in La Mesa. Go downtown or to PB for that. I've personally attended Grossmont CC
and it's not bad. I would be careful if you live close to the El Cajon border- not the greatest area. La Mesa Village has old school car shows during the summer months on Thursday evening, I believe. It's quiet there- if partying is really your thing you are in the wrong place.
