Default Still Warm

Water is still plenty warm as of September 25th. In the low 70s with the air in the 80s. Pretty hard to get motivated for work!

I'm going to be in the San Diego area for a couple days around october 11th, can anybody give me some insight in to what the water temperatures should be sitting around when I get there in 2 weeks? I appreciate any info.

The main Mission Beach lifeguard station was showing 66 degrees yesterday. South Mission Beach was showing 64 degrees. You'll probably see similar temps in early October.

I saw 62F on whiteboard at the Mission Beach lifeguard station near Belmont Park yesterday (Sunday - 9/27) around 1pm

Yeah, I'd say mid-60s is a pretty safe bet for a couple weeks from now. It's definitely getting to be wet suit weather, which is a bummer after a really nice summer in the low to mid 70s in the water.

What was the official temp. in Encinitas this past weekend? It was quite warm enough Saturday for just trunks. Hoping for a few more weeks.

I don't exactly know because I don't surf where there are lifeguard towers with posted temperatures. But, I'd say it was 68 or so. Definitely not 62 though. I'm still getting by with trunks and a thin jacket, but the spring suit may have to come out of the garage now that the air temp is cooling off, too. Cool air and a breeze makes 67 feel cold, at least to me!
