Well of course there are SOME cool people in Encinitas. I'm just saying that the overwhelming culture there is yuppie scum, and fake, annoying, trust-fund hippies. But not every single person.
It's just like saying Compton or Inglewood is dangerous. Sure there are some very nice people in Compton. But overwhelmingly, it IS dangerous.
Or if I said Wyoming is full of cowboys. Sure not all of them are cowboys. But a much higher ratio of them are than in other places.
Generalizations often hold a lot of truth, even if they are not 100% true of every single person.

Ok, since you're pressing on with this line of reasoning, answer me this if you don't mind. When was the last time you were in Encinitas? For how long? What did you do while you were here? What specifically happened to you to give you such a negative view of the city and its residents?

Just stop. Stop, stop, stop.
You are so full of BS, it's beyond laughable. I don't know what Encinitas did to you to create such a vile attitude, an attitude that isn't justified.
Let's see, I grew up here for 20 years....let's just say that I know more about Encinitas than you do....five times over. Your statement is false. It would be true in places like Menlo Park, Atherton, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos (SF area communities, like RSF in NorCal). Your statement would be true when talking about some parts of Orange county.
But Encinitas?! Yes, the homes have gotten nicer. Yes, there are nicer cars. Yes, the school district is (god forbid) nice. Yes, it is safe. But of course, a safe, BEAUTIFUL, community with great schools, nice houses and some nice cars is automatically a bad community full of Yuppie "scum."
Just stop, please. You are an absolute moron. If you don't like Encinitas, then don't live here! Go live in one of your "non-yuppie scum" communities like Ocean Beach, where you have people passed out throwing up on each other and trash everywhere. I'm sure you would just love it there, non of that "evil Encinitas yuppie scum" in OB!

Oh, of course. I think you are more "yupppie scum" than me. Contributing to the downfall of California and the United States?! That's Encinitas!
Of course, they are esteemed, level headed posters and know more about Encinitas than you and me....people that have lived here for a while....that's how visionary they are.

A family member lived in Encinitas for two years, he also lived in other North County towns. I would visit him very often. Someties spending a few days there. The last time I was there was Sunday. I've spent plenty of time in Encinitas.
My negative view mostly comes from the arrogant, privelaged, annoying people. It's that simple. People who's entire demeanor is all about flashing their wealth off and competing with everyone else on who's got the most. They are likely to almost crash into you speeding down the road, act incredibly rude to you in public places and generally act as though they are privelaged royalty. A very aristocratic type of attitude. These people have stopped being mere human beings, and they think that they are God.
And then there are the fake hippies/hipsters who are rich, pretentious, have a sense of entitlement, and are very judgmental. Yet they are trying to portray themselves as Kerouakesque, salt of the Earth, grungy types. Usually they are young and incredibly naive and gullible. I find them to be annoyingly hypocritical and ridiculous. They're hippyism is usually very superficial, and when you actually talk to them it's like their hippy clothes are just a costume, a fashion statement. And underneath, they are just trying to live out some stereotypical, liberal, hippy life.
Just about all the hippies I met in Encinitas had their wealth handed down to them. They were privelaged snots, who were utterly naive and clueless what a normal person's life is all about. And they condescendingly looked down upon poor people and had other aristocratic type qualities. Which I always thought were supposedly the antithesis of what hippies are all about.
The yuppies were usually just caffiene soaked, workaholic, a-holes who were lost in their own little world and thought that the world belonged to them. Thy are the most important person on Earth. They are completely unmanagable ego-maniacs on a megalomaniac fantasy.
These two groups, the yuppies, and fake hippies seemed to make up about 90% of the people. And they usually strictly fell into these stereotypes. I hate to stereotype people, but they do it to themselves.
The fact is, anyone who can afford to live in Encinitas must be pretty wealthy. And we ALL know what the wealthy SoCal mentality, philosophy and lifestyle is. The wealthy American mentality for that matter, but SoCal is by far the worst.
Just go into any forum on city-data and ask "Hey, what do you all think about those rich Southern Californians living on the coast?" You probably won't get a very good response.
We all know what the typical Orange County person is like. Well, North County SD is very, very similar.

You are simply one of them. If you cannot see what i'm talking about, then you are probably one of the people i'm speaking of. Indoctrinated into it.
Encinitas is a beautiful town, that's why all these very wealthy people live there of course. The people there just have their noses up in the air too high for my tastes.
