I've read that they have a business park with 800 companies, seems there would be work there eventually and I wouldn't need to go to downtown. I need some of those real esate magazines from the East side of SD and Vista. Is Eucalytus Hills prone to fires?

Yes.

Anything in an area with acreage will be subject to fire danger.

Hmmm. Yes! If you are going to be in the downtown area around lunch and want mexican, head to Las Cuatro Milpas. Not a good part of town at night though.

More great Mexican restaurants, all sit-down:
Casa Guadalajara (Old Town) - The freshly made tortillas are to die for
Marieta's (La Mesa & Bonita) - Tasty and a good value
Casa de Pico (La Mesa) - Lots of atmosphere

For taco shop type places, check out these:
Sombrero's (all over the place) - Always good
Lolita's (multiple locations) - Great tortillas make great burritos!

On the topic of places to not be at night, how is Old Town say up until 9:00? Is it safe then?

Default More information...

I highly recommend San Carlos...just as nice as La Mesa. Although La Mesa has a neighborhood with older houses (good luck finding one!) where San Carlos is all 60's homes (?). I think it's around 14 miles from downtown San Diego. I feel Santee is a step down and lots more congested with all the development in the last few years.

What accomodations are you looking for???? How many people etc...I have a 3rd floor, 2 br/2ba condo in San Carlos for rent (actually one of those condo conversions). Nice neighborhood, close to grocery stores and parks. One reserved parking space. Trolly is not within walkable distance but the bus stops at the corner.

I moved from San Diego 3 years ago because I could not afford a house by myself. I live in Northeast Texas now but still rent my San Carlos condo. I loved San Diego the entire time I lived there but felt I needed to try out something else. I hope to go back some day...

Please email me if you need any inside info: senoradelgato@gmail.com ... I lived there for 20 years. I don't know much about schools but can tell you about my friends children's experiences...

Good luck to you and have fun!!! I hope you love San Diego as much as I do!!!

All you have to do is look on the MTS website and check the trolley schedules.

Red face Kind of embarassed...........

what time does the trolley start and does it run every hour or half hour? I am not familiar with reading or really understanding the MTS scheduals that are available, in fact I have never ridden the trolly before and don't want to end up in a bad place. I very much apreciate your help and your time!

It is very easy to catch the green line trolley from Marshall to Santee. It runs about every half an hour. I don't know the exact times but it starts very, very early like 6 am or something. And Santee is only about three stops down. You aren't going to end up in a bad place in those areas.
