Default City Council approves heavy fines for noise in Mid-City

http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/m...noisefine.html

It's not really a problem on my block (except for a barking dog that drives me nuts), but it's nice to see some action. Looks like this is only in District 7 right now, would be great to see it citywide.

Good to see. Too bad they didn't have this a couple of years ago when a college-rented house hosted a raucous party, complete with firecrackers. I've never seen the majority of our street out at midnight, in PJs, frowning & carrying cell phones, dialing SDPD.

It's progress. Hopefully, it will deter the loud parties 'til the wee hours of the morning.

Now...if they could just find a way to put a mute button on the helicopters that sound like they're landing on our roof at 1am!

That's good to hear. I wish other places would adopt this, especially here in Oregon.

I miss the sound of helicopters at night though, but it was that damn light they shine all over the place that kind of bothered me a little.
