It's out of his price range. We were down there today and a 3/2 1800sf craftsman lists for a cool 900k+.

You can find such for 600K with fixer uppers for 4-500K. Move on over here Sassberto. Schools would be acceptable to you. MH has the best microclimate in SD - temperate indeed.

Just did a quick search and there isn't a single house listed for under 600k in Mission Hills north of Washington. In fact there are only 2 houses under 900k listed.

I would go nuts if I lived there, even if I could walk to the 7-11 on El Cajon Blvd. This is my idea of a great, safe and family friendly neighborhood. Note the walking trail behind the house on picture 19 leading to Mission Trails Park.

4782 Calle De Vida, San Diego, CA, 92124

This area has good schools on the elementary level. It is not walkable to restaurants however you can get to LaJolla and the beach areas very quickly via the 52 and to Balboa Park and downtown via the 163. It is also close to the great variety of restaurants in the Convoy area.

How about South of Washington? Still very nice for family though North is more upscale and tidier.

1 little house, short sale, under 600k
2 houses 6-700k, one right on Washington and one right near India
4 houses 700-800k, very nice.

Sorry, it's jut too rich for my blood. Great area, but I am not going to stomach a 4k+/mo mortgage to live anywhere. Even rentals in that area are 2-3k+/mo.

It's a nice house but it is adjacent to Cleveland Ave which is a very busy street. The whole area is nice but very busy and there are a ton of apartments right there. I used to live 2 blocks away, we loved it in our 20's but it is too noisy and crowded. If you go west of Maryland St it is very secluded and quiet but homes cost 100k more.

One thing about the little houses in MH is that you can find a better than average SD yard versus newer tract communities. You have to give up sq ft, or give up on SD for CO.
