Default 2 Weeks since Move in - Any advice on this Apt?

Hey guys,

So, it's been about 2 weeks since I moved from Philly. And now, I'm searching for a permanent place and need some advice.

What do you guys think about this place?:
Hilltop Terrace 4166 4th Ave. (between Montecito Way & Arbor Dr) San Diego, CA 92103.

Also, any other choices (safe) that are around $0-$1200/month price range? I'm considering areas like 1) University City 2) La Jolla (around la jolla) 3) Mission Valley 4) Mission Beach 5) Pacific Beach 6) Downtown 7) HillCrest.

Thanks for the help!

Can't speak on the apartments themselves but the area is good, it is very popular with people who work at UCSD Hospital.

A decent area.

Parking, particularly for visitors, could be a real problem.

You will probably be paying a "hospital proximity surcharge". Well-paid Medical professionals looking for apartments really close to work will have bid up the rents above what this apartment would command in other areas. If you aren't working at the hospitals you might want to look elsewhere. But if you really, really like it, then whatever the price, it's worth it to you.

So, I take it that the area is "Safe". The reason, I ask this is because the rent for 1 BDRM is less than $1000 and it seems VERY unusual?!? It's not just this place but, couple other places in the same area, they all have similar ranging rents... Any clues as to why that may be?

I am concerned about parking since, there is no gated parking and parking is only on an open parking lot.

The area is safe. But it is very busy and crowded. And since you have UCSD and Mercy right there... lots of sirens.
