Any native new yorker's living in sd?
Born and raised in ny, I want the sd weather with the ny lifestyle. What neighborhood would mimic that the most?

None. It doesn't exist.

If you want to move here, forget about NYC. No one will want to hear your comparisons between NY and SD either.

I have been 2 SD in 2007 for a family reunion and absolutely loved it. I loved the slow pace, the weather, and the smell of the air.
I just came back from vegas not to long ago, and as a 26yo single guy I have to be honest in saying that 90% of the females i had the opportunity to talk to were freaking beautiful. My neck still hurts from having turned around every 2 seconds..
Stupid reasons for most people to read about, but someone like me with no strings attached, i say "why not?"...

Go for it, worst thing that can happen is you don't like it.
Just take it for what it is. NYC is NYC and there is nothing in San Diego that can compare. So accept that and go into it with your eyes open. Live in San Diego on it's own terms and don't look back. San Diego is San Diego and San Diegans don't think NYC is as great as you (or I do). In fact, many San Diegans have never been to NYC and many have zero interest in ever visiting.

Just don't go looking for NYC when you move down there, because you won't find it.

Most definitely! and lol @ new yorker pride.
Yes it's funny talking to people from sd about ny. Those haven't visited still envision scenes of "gotham city" from batman 1, graffiti, and muggers.. lol

I guess what i meant to say was an area that could be compared to the "urban lifestyle". Not specifically comparing to nyc.

In that case Downtown would be your best bet. San Diego has a Little Italy, but it's nothing like the one in NYC.
