Default Help with commute times during rush hour

Can someone give me a radius more or less of areas that will keep my commute to and from at about 15-30 minutes during rush hour?

Commute will be to OceansideBLVD between El Camino Real and College BLVD.

I will be relocating to this area in the summer. Not being from the area, I do not want to look for a house in a area/city that will have at an hour commute.

Price range is $500-650.
Good part of town would be great.

Thanks to all

$500-650 is a bit on the low side.

Are you looking to rent a place by yourself or a roommate? I think that you're only going to be able to have roommates with that budget.

I don't know what you're looking for, house, townhome or condo?

Oceanside isn't that great of a place to live, a lot of gangs, violence and other problems. Carslbad is more expensive, but it's a better place to live. You should be able to find a nice condo/town home in ur price range.

I lived in Oceanside for a short period and there are really nice areas without the gang problems. However, while I was there, the local newspaper seemed to have atleast 1 gang-related shooting every other day or so.

So the gang issue is a problem in the city of Oceanside.

Before buying a place, research the area carefully. You can even go to the police department and ask about areas that have problems.

As far as the commute, those streets listed are some of the main streets so they can get crowded from time to time.

I'd be looking for a single family home. I've read many positive comments about Carlsbad.

But again, not knowing the area at all, I want to know if there are other cities I should look at or someone can suggest that will keep me at a short commute.

It would be with my family (2 kids) so I would prefer a nice quiet area if possible.
