Default Chula Vista..what's the big deal??

I hear some say it's bad and others say it's ok....what is the lowdown on the city? I recently visited the area there on vacation and we stayed off E street at a motel 6. A lot of minorities I noticed although I am one myself (latino) but other than that it wasn't all that bad.

advice would be helpful...since we are planning on moving there or El Cajon in the future.

I lived in Chula Vista for 34 years and just loved the weather. There are so many things to do so my husband and I were never bored. I attended classes at Southwestern JC College, played tennis at Bonita Tennis Club then and just stayed around in the area. I hardly went to downtown San Diego. My friends and I would go to Tia Juana to perfect our Spanish.

It is crowded now ever since East Lake (the eastern part of Chula Vista) was developed.

in SD it's just one of those places some people will look down upon like El Cajon or Escondido or Oceanside.

There's really nothing wrong with CV, the old part near the 5 has some funky neighborhoods and some nice ones too. East side is all upscale brand new developments. For crime it's not standout for south county, San Ysidro is really where the problems are.

The trolley goes right to CV, so its handy to get to and from San Diego, or Mexico if you want to go there for the day. I often think I would like to live in San Diego, but I am so concerned about the cost of living. I thought perhaps Chula VIsta, Im not hispanic I don't know what CV is like now, I don't know if I would be out of place there, or if it is a mixture of people, which I would prefer.

It's a mix
that E Street corodor(NWCV) might be the roughest part of town
But there are nice areas so CV is more like a mixed bag
just depends where your at

ok cool...I like it because it's not too far in either direction to Mexico or the beaches. I am just wondering on the commute and freeway trafic.
