This is a fun outing with no cost other than the gas to drive to the factory in El Cajon. We took the tour at 1 PM today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Saw a nice looking part of El Cajon between the freeway exit and the factory too. I recommend this as an outing.

I'd go if they gave you a sample guitar at the end of the tour.
Do they charge anything for the tour?

The tour is free. They don't give free samples but they do have guitars available in the visitor's center which you are welcome to play.

Interesting. Taylor guitars are all acoustic, right? So these are all acoustic guitars they are making.... how much of the process is handmade/custom vs. purely assembly line/mass production? Is the El Cajon factory the co.'s only or main plant? Didn't realize we still "made" stuff here in SoCalif.

They also make electric guitars but you only get to see the acoustic processes. They did not tell us what percentage were custom but we did see a special paint job being put on a custom guitar.
