Hi! I'm gonna move to San Diego in the end of the month, and going to bring my dad, he is an artist. Im looking to find apartment in $1000-1200 limit 1-or 2 bdr (would be hard i know) in safe clean area with walking distance to all art atmosphere in San Diego. I've never been in SD, so need advice in chhosing area. On map I checked Hillcrest. Is that the main area? Thanks a lot in advance

Art?

My guess is that you should be looking at Downtown, North Park, and South Park. The benefits of this are that North Park and South Park are less expensive than Hillcrest or Downtown. Some people might suggest La Jolla, but that is where you live when you want to be near the people who BUY the art, not the people who create it.
