I have a family of 8 (total) that are looking to rent a place in San Diego County. I have a job that I will have to drive into one or two days a week in Irvine and we have a ton of family that live in South Orange County who I don't want to be too far from.

We want to have a place that has at least 2 acres, allows horses and farm animals, and ideally has some fruit trees (but not necessary).

I have lived in SoCal my entire life, mostly living in South Orange County.

We have friends that live in Valley Center who we have spent a lot of time visiting, so we are fairly familiar with that area. We were also looking around Ramona.

Do you have any areas you would recommend?

I have been looking in craigslist. Do you recommend any other ways of finding a rental property?

We need at least 4 bedrooms, preferably 5 because I work out of the house most days.

Do you have or know of anyone who is looking to rent their property?

Thanks for your help!

Ramona is a good place to look for ranch property to rent.

Here's an example: Fabulous Ranch Property in Ramona! (http://sandiego.craigslist.org/esd/apa/1657989440.html - broken link)
