So im a young ( 25 ) single professional moving to SD. I work at UCSD, want to live in a suburban-ish or 'lightly' urban areas ( not downtown) that are close to nightlife/bars etc.. without being in the middle of crazy all night noise. I dig cool areas with shops/restaurants you can walk around. Like to keep rent to 1000 max for a single bedroom apartment - is this reasonable?

Also can anyone recommend good gyms in the area? I am a bodybuilder type but something balanced, and not insanely busy all the time.

Any good hiking/camping people could recommend as well?

Thanks
