Default Where is the cheapest to live in San Diego?

My 2 friends and i are 20 and we are planning on moving to San Diego next year from Nebraska. We are planning to gain residency and after the year go to school there. We have our dreams but not very much money and we were wondering where to move to in San Diego. Any suggestions?

How do you plan to survive? If you move here with not very much money, your only option is the street.

Generally the further inland, the less expensive. We would need to have some sense of what your rental budget will be. Try Craig's list.

Pacific Beach is calling all 3 of you! As you probably know by now, jobs are scarce everywhere. Gone are the days of moving here first, and finding odd jobs to pay the bills. There are few odd jobs anymore.

They never listen, though.

I know, but remember when we were young? Nothing has changed

I guess they can save up their money and live in the middle of City Heights while they job search.

I tried to move to San Diego before, and I wound up living in my station wagon. That was when the economy was good. Now, it is extremely hard to find work there, and the cost of living is at least double from where you are coming from. San Diego is an awesome city, but I would not even consider it in your situation (or mine).
