I am planning to move to Ca in Aug or Sept. I am a hairstylist for Great Clips and plan to transfer to another GC's out there. I love the Coachella Valley but am concerned about the hot summers. I also like the San Diego area and up along the coast just north of there. I am wondering tho, how much more expensive is it to live there than in the Coachella Valley (ie; Palm Springs, La Quinta, etc)? I would be looking to rent a room for awhile first. Rooms for rent in the Coachella Valley are around $500 range. I wouldn't want to spend much more than that to begin with. Is that feasible?
Thanks!

You'd probably need to share a room in a house or condo for $500 a month. Craigslist is a good place to find room shares: san diego rooms & shares classifieds - craigslist

Palm Springs is really Phoenix. PS. is very nice but its very small. You may tire of it in time. Plus that 115 degree summer heat isnt my idea of a good time. Unless your 80 yrs. old. In that case, the heat feels really good on your tired body. $500/mo. is possible in San Diego. But you will be 20+ miles from the coast. Which means it will be hot, hot, hot. And boring, boring, boring. Good luck.
