Well we do know for sure that Oakland is going to lose at least 200 people this year:

Oakland considers losing up to 200 police officers - California State Wire - fresnobee.com (http://www.fresnobee.com/2010/06/21/1979049/oakland-considers-losing-up-to.html - broken link)

I'll take your changing the subject as a sign of surrender.

Thanks.

Getting too predictable.

Know this thread is old. . .but to anybody else looking. I would pay attention to Mr. Fantastic. We have friends living in east oakland, with 3 children 12 and under and they stay inside as much as possible and don't let their children play in the yard. If they want to go for a walk, they drive out of the city to somewhere else to get exercise.

It all depends on where you are in the neighborhood. There are plenty of nice, safe parks all over town. It sounds like your friends need to learn about more Oakland neighborhoods outside of theirs. (The park in the Dimond is great!)

Hey you are by Mews Market... They used to sell us booze underage, one of our favorites I dunno about Fitchburg, we used to get drugs there, but this was the 90s.

What is more important about defining middle class? Income or property values in the neighborhood.
