Default Where do senior citizens hang out in Contra Costa County?

Hi all,

I'm part of a nonprofit group in Contra Costa County that works to help senior citizens manage their Medicare options. My colleagues and I are brainstorming places to interact with low income seniors other than the obvious places such as senior centers, Rossmoor. It may sound silly, but it is a serious question: what places in the county are good places to interact with senior citizens?

Thank you for your suggestions.

Most cities offer community education classes, many specifically for seniors. Churches maybe. Convalescent homes and senior housing developments are about the only other place I can think of where there would be a group of them. But I'm just not sure how open anyone would be to discussing their affairs with someone they didn't specifically seek out. My parents are seniors in CCC and while they live in a senior community they don't really "hang out" anywhere specifically with other seniors, they just go out and do stuff like everyone else. LOL.

Yeah, I think seniors go to theater, restaurants, coffee shops, malls, visit with friends, visit their kids, etc. It's not like there are neighborhoods dedicated to seniors. Rossmoor is mostly a gated golf-course community for 55+ adults with no kids, who like to play golf. But that's sort of like an early version of Sun City type developments.
