Default Thanks for all the advice everyone

Hi guys! Thank you for all the advice. There's just one more area I'm looking at and I really like the place there. I just wanted to know what you guys thought of the area.

It's on Martin Luther King and 54th street.

I like Chris Rock's line: "Martin Luther King lived his whole life preaching non-violence. But let me tell you, I don't care what city it is, if you go down to Martin Luther King Blvd, there's some violence going on!"

I didn't follow this thread or review the other places you were looking into but MLK and 54th is Gaskill/Sante Fe -ish. My friend lived on 55th and San Pablo so I was able to ride my bike around there quite a bit - it's pretty sketchy in areas. San Pablo is worse than MLK but there's some occasional shootings and sketchy looking people enough that I wasn't always real comfortable on a bike at night - it wouldnt be a place I'd want to live in Oakland, myself.

MLK and 54th is probably no safer than Fallujah, Iraq. It's violent and full of crime. If you live there, you should have automatic weapons training or a body guard who is well versed in combat arts.

I would skip the MLK place, it is improving over there, but isn't great.
