Oakland is just a haven for criminals looking to make victims, $17 or not.
So you just sat there and watched and didn't even bother to call 911? How did you watch this from Mission Viejo? Or were you visiting your alleged houses up here? You're so full of crap.

Nice touch by the way with black guys and KFC. I guess this makes you a racist as well.

^typical SFgate crap. Crime is "entrenched" in parts of MANY cities, including San Francisco. Of course SFgate is going to have some big article associating "entrenched crime" with Oakland though...and than of course the Oakland haters are gonna rejoice in the article.

LOOK OMG A NEWSPAPER SAYS THAT OAKLAND IS BAD OMG GUYS LOOK I TOLD YOU SO

Funny how the Oakland bashers almost never comment when i post about crime in SF, like i did several posts ago (you know...a woman getting stabbed nearly to death in a robbery in a nice area, and 5 year-old girls getting shot in tourist central, AKA chinatown...no big deal ). Why is that? Why the feigned outrage at violence? It's obviously not real outrage, since only Oakland violence sets these haters off. Why the Oakland obsession?

What would you call 30 years of ongoing drug and gang violence in Oakland?

A passing fad?

Hey, I noticed that too - I was really surprised by the horrific crime that can happen in some pretty random and safe-feeling areas in SF. I don't hate SF as a result (quite the contrary), but it's definitely surprising and alarming. I'm definitely more into solutions and applying context and objectivity than railing a place because of a statistic. I'm pretty sure people either a) just like to get a rise out of people, since there's nothing particularly productive or enlightening in their comments, or b) like to make themselves feel better about their own choices by putting down other people's. Or c), are racist.

Yeah, that makes sense.

SF Gate has an agenda against Oakland. They just like to get a rise out of people, and pad their own egos, or are probably racist.

That makes sense for a newspaper like the Chronicle because everyone knows Oakland doesn't have a crime problem, and it's really S.F with the state topping violent crime rate... oh wait a second...
