To some extent I agree, but Oakland is also a place where criminals just seem to thrive. I don't know why anyone would even drive their vehicle into the city knowing how crime ridden it is.
I watched a pregnant woman get BEATEN at a local Oakland KFC by two black males. They were literally kicking her and punching her in the gut. Why? Because she wouldn't move her car from a more "desired" parking spot.
The police even arrived on scene, and didn't even give chase the the two men.
Oakland is just a haven for criminals looking to make victims, $17 or not.

Agreed. Actual Murders could be down, but if shootings are happening, the potential for murder was there.

To answer your somewhat pointless question, hopefully someone local can use any information I'm able to provide to find the culprits of this crime, and they are prosecuted to the full letter of the law.

Crime in Oakland is down, now on a healthy three year trend and we are likely to see that continue. You cannot refute that, the proof is in the numbers.
