Not much in East Bay except Chevron HQ...which has near-zero high-income jobs/equity upside vs BigTech or start-ups in PA area...thus, EastBay is socio-economic equivalent of OH or MI or NJ or non-Westside LA <30mis E of PaloAlto

Can you please for once type like a normal person? You don't have to write posts with a bunch of abbreviations that nobody understands. You're not texting here. And, it wouldn't bother me as much if you were at least contributing useful information. All of your posts are the same though...Palo Alto this and Palo Alto that and Stanford this and Berkeley that. Your posts are very subjective and don't really have basis.

I actually live in Emeryville (when I am not in San Diego part time), and the big office buildings on the marina have some good deals. It's basically class A office space with ample parking, amazing freeway access, the free BART shuttle, great views, and a ten-minute drive to SF (or the shuttle/BART combo, which will take about 30 minutes at least -- I hate public transportation for taking so long). Some developers bought up some of those office towers for a steal recently, and commercial real estate analysts thing the 20 percent vacancy rates will go down substantially in the next few years, as it is considered a prime location for its convenience. The deals are to be had now.

Emeryville itself does have a bunch of cool companies, and farther inland from the (windy, cold) marina, the streets are bustling during the week with street food trucks and workers hanging out at cafes and parks at lunch. Lots of interesting businesses there besides Pixar and Novartis, such as LeapFrog toys HQ, Jamba Juice corporate HQ, Chevy's restaurants HQ, Whole Foods regional HQ, Gallo Wines, Siebel, and a bunch of other hip companies. I believe there are more financial type firms on the marina area though.

You may also want to check out the smaller office buildings along Christie Avenue, right along the freeway.

Excellent post, but I would like to point out that there are not just financial firms on the marina area there in E-ville....there's at least one major audio/visual/subsidiary company that is in music internet biz there......

It sounds like a great place for new companies not related to silicon valley.
