Craigslist is the way to go, but two problems... $400 won't get you anything in San Francisco, and you can't mention religion in a CL ad. I'd offer you my empty room, but you probably wouldn't want to live with a Jewish slob.
Not to mention, I'm asking $750 for the room - and it's fairly small, hence the reason I say you won't find rooms for $400.

You can't discriminate against religions, but if you were to post a room/share wanted ad you could say whatever you like, because you're not the one offering accommodation..
