Hayward is rather blah, and was back when I went to Cal State in the '70s.
There is one good thing there, though, Buffalo Bills Brewery. Check it out.

Ok 2 things. Panera and Buffalo Bill. Actually, I was surprised it was in Hayward. It is really good! Best Caesar Salad ever there. And awesome Bacon.

I briefly lived in Hayward when I was 8 or 9 years old. I remember at the end of our street was a horse ranch and small stream. The most exciting thing about living there were the thousands of frogs that would invade our swimming pool and make the most memorable noise. Other than that, it's hard to believe how close that desolate place is to Oakland and Berkeley where I spent my time, even continuing to go to school in Berkeley so I saw the contrast daily.

And what's wrong with Mexican immigrants?

other than that though I pretty much agree... Hayward sucks.
Nothing per se. As long as they come here legally and learn and speak English like everyone else. This is not an extension of Mexico.

Didn't think anything was wrong with Hayward until I saw a toddler flip my toddler off during a visit to Southland Mall. The tatooed up to the neck dad didn't seem to care either.

Caspers is notoriously bad amongst every person I know from that area. I went and was not impressed at all. Though the twighlight zone head shop was a favorite spot to go to in my college days, heh.

I te many nights at Caspers when I was in college there. Also, can anyone else remember Chicken Delight?

Is the Plunge still there (bar across Mission from the big indoor pool)? It was a real dive then but we'd go for a few beers after final exams.

Which one was bad? There were 2 Caspers in Hayward. Everyone I know loves them and Vals. I spent a few years in Chicago and New York City so I know my meat and they are both excellent.
