Default Sebastopol - A nice, safe place to live?

Hi, We are a family with a 6 year old child who are looking at moving to California and Sebastopol is currently a possibility. Any info on what sort of a place it is to live in and how safe it is would be greatly appreciated. Also, what are the schools like?
Thanks

A good question would be where are you intending to work? I ask because if you're going to work in say- San Francisco or the immediate Bay Area, Sebastapol is a bit too far for commuting. You would be looking at at least an hour each way.

Personally I kind of like Sebastapol. Its a little more rural and not at all like the Bay Area. It is close to Santa Rosa, which is also nice. I don't know a thing about the schools. The biggest issue for me though is as stated- its really too far from any of the major job areas.

SF to Sebastopol is about 75 mins WITHOUT traffic. While that's not necessarily too far for a day trip, it would be a serious grind for daily commuting, particularly once you add in the horrendous traffic headed down the 101.

Sebastopol is definitely safe and a nice rural town with a small downtown area with shops and such. There is some money in Sebastopol, as the town has a Whole Foods Market. You'll also have plenty of fresh farm produce to choose from.

It all depends on what you are looking for.

I've only been there once. It struck me as a rustic Northern CA farm town with some wealthy residents who have bought big homes there. You probably wouldn't want to commute to work further south than Petaluma or Novato.

Hi. Just checking to see if you moved to Sebastopol? I am also looking at moving there and I am trying to find out more. I also have a 5 year old. Let me know if you moved there or where you decided to go!
