Default Florida to California

Hello everyone, I am thinking of moving my family (wife, and three kids) to California would like to know if someone can help me find a decent area in the San Francisco bay area, cheap rent, low crime and good school. The reason why I chose SF is because I was born there. I spent some of my child hood in Pittsburg until we move to Miami, FL back in 1993. The last time I went to SF was back in 1997 for vacation but I was still a kid. Any help would be great, thanks!

You first need to tell us what you can afford and where your job will be located.

" San Francisco bay area, cheap rent, low crime and good school."

If I ever words that don't belong in the same sentence, this is it.

Agree with the above posters. Details please. What are your rental expectations, how far from work, where will you be working, and schools really are relative - what's good to you?

Well I'm in Corrections, I have been told that starting average pay for a C/O is in low to mid 50's. I have not looked for a job because I'm not moving, just wanted to know what areas are good. I looked on craiglist's and found some apartments 3/2 for $1,200.00, forgot the name of the city, red something!

If you can get a CCPOA job they pay well but everyone wants that kind of job so I imagine they aren't easy to get. Prisons tend to be in more rural areas which aren't as expensive as the inner Bay Area. The Bay Area is pretty expensive no matter where you are until you get pretty far out from SF and Silicon Valley.

Agreed. Pick two of the three.
