Default Job in Redwood City, where to live?

I haven't seen many nice looking places for rent (I am not looking to buy) in Redwood City, Palo Alto is too expensive and San Francisco seems too far. I have looked at one place in Pacifica that seemed decent but I have no idea what Pacifica is like (I am from the midwest), plus I don't know if it is too far.

Need more details.... where's the job, how much is your budget, what kind of neighborhood do you want, one bedroom or two, how much commute can you live with, car or public transit, etc etc etc.

We live in the Redwood Shores part of Redwood City and love it here. It has a nice neighborhood feel, clean and beautiful streets. Depending on where you are situated in Redwood Shores, you can also walk to a starbucks, ice cream store, restaurants, bank and grocery store (Nob Hill). Just another place you may want to check out.

There are many nice places to live in Redwood City. Keep looking! Also check out San Carlos (or Redwood Shores mentioned above). Pacifica is too far away and has too much wind and fog being on the coast.

Try Redwood Shores (it's different place than REdwood City), San Carlos, and Burlinghame. Don't bother with Pacifica it's too far.

: I changed my search from Redwood City to Redwood Shores and found a place that is .4 miles from work. Thank you for the ideas.

Some additional info: I would be working in a building next to Electronic Arts and near the Oracle HQ. I don't want to spend more than $2500 if possible.

You should look into the Samson St apartments on Arguello & Samson.

Only consider Pacifica if you're a hardcore surfer who absolutely has to be near the waves. It's a slightly run-down suburban area and is socked in by fog most of the year.

I too am looking for apartments closer to Redwood City. How is the commute from Sunnyvale? I have looked at apartments in San Mateo as well, but the costs are high and no washer dryer. The good ones (based on reviews) have no availability. Any recommendations on good apartments - Redwood Shores, San Carlos, San Mateo? I am looking at 1 BR preferably under 1750.

Apartments with a washer/dryer are extremely rare. All apartments have a common laundry room that is used by all tenants.
