I grew up hearing the word all the time in South Central L.A. And I have dated all shades of women. But I dont use the word for obvious reasons, and I dont think that dating someone black should entitle a non black person to use the slurr, even if their partner doesnt mind. Even some black people, especially younger ones, dont fully realize how much they disrespect themselves by using it, and what a hateful term it is.

People have to consider the mentality of the people you are talking about.

Default Not in my experience

I live, work, and hang out in downtown Oakland and have been here for nine years. I've never heard anyone use the n-word, except (very infrequently) young African-American men in passing on the street. This is just one person's observation (who admittedly does not hang out in places where the n-word is frequently used).

"F**k," on the other hand...

In street vernacular, I hear white people use the n-word frequently. In a professional setting nobody uses it. What matters is the context it's used in.

‪V-Nasty Using The N-Word‬‏ - YouTube
I just watched this 14-year-old suburban white kid who doesn't even know how to use the "F word" rant on about the "N word" for over 3 minutes. I'll never get that time back.

Oh, and for the record, he was actually defending V-Nasty's right to use the N word...fwiw, which isn't much.

Okay a few things:

1 That kid is Andy Milinokis, hes like 30 something.

2 That girl is not a making rap. She is making crap. If you want authentic hood bay rap with a good female rapper, go on you tube and look up let's looie.

3. This younger generation can't even do the whole malibu's wanted thing right. At least in the 90's, it was funny and not just plain sad.

They don't know it's a joke. Which is pretty funny in and of itself.
