Default How long would be the commute by AC Transbay Transit from Albany to SF?

Hi,

Does anyone commute form Albany to SF by Transbay bus? How long is the bus ride into the city in the morning? How long is the ride back from the city to Albany in the evening? Does the bike rack on the bus get filled up fast?

My family with two school-age kids will relocate to the bay area and would like to learn more about Albany.

Many thanks in advance!

You can use the trip planner here, it says about 28 minutes from downtown Albany to the Transbay Terminal in SF:

As for firsthand experience riding the bus from there, I wouldn't know. I imagine 80 is pretty rough, the bridge is usually not that bad, I'd say before 8AM the ride is faster than after it. Now and then there's an accident which can add a lot of time to the ride. You could also take BART from either El Cerrito or N. Berkeley, it's more reliable in terms of transit time but just getting to BART from Albany could be a pain compared to walking down the street to a transbay bus.

I find the transbay schedules are pretty close to accurate unless there is a huge issue. There is a carpool lane over there, and it takes off a huge amount of the wait. The Bus drivers are also savvy, and take the Bayshore freeway when needed. Just tack on 5-8 minutes for a traffic-y day.

Default Thank-you for the helps!

My family found a deal for an apartment and decided to settle in the city! My ~5-mile commute to work in Mission Bay still takes ~30 minutes. Coming from LA, I'm not in a shock.

Thank-you, all, again!
