There are also several apartment buildings along Jefferson Ave that would put you within walking distance of the train station. Shopping center a couple of blocks away. There is also a Whole Foods store on the corner of Jefferson and El Camino Real (Hwy 82).

Downtown Redwood City which has a 'little' night life is within walking distance.

What street and cross street are you referring to? The general rule of thumb is west of el co, and north of woodside some areas are hit and miss.

Apartment is on the Gordon street. Cross street is Woodside Road.

That area is just fine ... lots of duplexes. I used to live a few blocks up from there, it's pretty quiet the further away from Red Morton Park.
