Hi everyone. I previously posted about looking for an apartment to rent (in SF and/or East Bay), and suggestions included Walnut Creek (thanks so much to everyone for their responses!!!). I've since visited Walnut Creek - and liked it - but the apartments I looked at were a few miles out from the downtown area, and instead were near / within walking distance of the Pleasant Hill BART station (e.g., the Avalon, the Archstone, etc.)

SO, the reason for this follow-up post is that am interested to learn about apartments in or within walking distance of the downtown area, which i understand - but would ask confirmation of - would also be within walking distance of the Walnut Creek BART station. I drove around the downtown area a little, and saw some buildings that I believe are apartments, but didn't see names. I've done some pretty extensive research on this - including this forum, the internet in general, called the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce - but to date have been unsuccessful in coming up with more than 1 or 2 names.

So, what i'd greatly appreciate is:
(1) the names of apartments (or if no name, maybe the address) in / within walking distance of the downtown area; AND
(2) confirmation that apartments in / within walking distance of downtown are also within walking distance of the Walnut Creek BART station (and if not, info re: such matters as parking at the stations (both Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill), city shuttles (if any), etc.)

(And for those of you reading this who don't know names of apartments BUT do know a realtor who might be able to help me in my quest (again, renting (not buying)), I'd take that too).

If it helps: am looking for apartments that are upscale, modern, contemporary. Amenities that am particularly interested in: closet space (the bigger, the better!), a washer / dryer in the unit, and parking.

Thanks again in advance to any / all who respond.

Look on Trinity Ave and Almond Ave. Almond Ave has some duplexes that often are for rent and at reasonable prices.

I read that 555 Ygnacio Valley Rd, supposedly new condos for sale, but decided to go the rental route after dismal sales. I think the developer is not too openly marketing the rental stock as not to hurt the sales. You may want to check it out:

There really aren't too many new, nice, upscale rentals within walking distance of Downtown WC and BART as most are older and were built years ago. If you look at those sites that mainly just list large, newer complexes then it will mostly be by PH since that area developed later. You might want to try the complex the poster above me mentioned as that is within walking distance of both downtown and BART. The only other complex I can think of is that one located along the 1600 block of CA Blvd where The Counter is located. I don't know the name of it or whether or not it's apartments or condos.

Parking at both stations is tight and I know WC charges, not sure on PH. Both fill up fast. You can take the free shuttle in the morning that runs between WC BART and Broadway Plaza to get to BART if you want to more in the heart of WC. But even then there just aren't many new, upscale apartment rentals in that area. Most complexes are old.

Yeah, you won't find something without walking distance of downtown Walnut Creek AND BART. Will you have a car? Pleasant Hill BART isn't that far from downtown Walnut Creek. Otherwise, I'd prefer to live closer to downtown WC and drive to BART.

I think the apartments you saw are called "Mercer." They are within walking distance to BART and downtown. The 2bed/2bath rent at $3,285. I don't know why anyone would pay that though! It'd be cheaper to rent a townhouse somewhere else in town.

Have you had any more luck?
