I'm going back to SF in a few weeks and am interested in learning what the job market for someone with experience in sales is right now. I have a LinkedIn profile and looked through the job postings in Dallas (where I currently live) and then looked at the SF jobs and noticed that SF has 1k more postings. It seems that most are in IT, but I'm wondering what gives.

What is the job market for someone like me out there? I'm 25, have a business degree, and 3 years of professional sales experience.

There is a tech boom right now in the SF area, so experienced IT professionals are in high demand. However, JPM had a lot of personal banking positions open in the middle/late July.

All I know is that the IT/Tech market is good in the Bay Area now, so maybe getting some kind of IT-related sales job would be easier than a different kind of sales job. I don't know.

I'd look into big tech companies. Good work environment. Free food all day. IM sports teams. Can't go wrong.

I have applied to about 30 jobs in San Francisco with the hopes of landing an interview when I'm there on vacation with my family on the 26th of this month. The only challenge is not having a local address, but it's not a big deal. My roomate works for T-Mobile and he will soon be looking for work, so I'll definitely tell him to check the job postings there.

Do you have any other industries that are hiring? I speak Spanish and basic French.

Sales in what? Like manning a cell phone store making $12 an hour? Or sitting at a desk selling "IT solutions" or whatever to big clients making like 60k a year with bonuses?

Definitely, not into $12/hr.... I made that when I was in school and my buddy works in corporate and is probably close to the six figures.
