Default what is San Franciscos most overrated tourist attraction?

riding the cable car wasn't all that for me.The conductor was a real jerk to everyone including a small child who was interested in learning how the cable car worked!

Why Lombard Street, of course. I cannot believe people make a point of visiting something that has the dubious distinction of being the curviest street in the world. So?

The backup of people trying to drive down Lombard Street on the weekends is ridiculous. You could even argue that it's not even the curviest road in San Francisco, much less the world (Vermont Street is steeper and has greater sinuosity).

Painted Ladies.

People, just because you saw them in some movie/TV show doesn't mean you have to go visit. It's just four houses across from a park.

Pier 39. I'll never understand what the appeal is of that place. A bunch of overpriced seafood restaurants and store after store selling trinkets and what can best be defined as "crap."

But, to each is own. I'm sure there's plenty of tourists that spend their whole weekend there. If they enjoy themselves, who am I to criticize?

Lombard is at least worth a visit, although I don't know why people lineup to drive down when you can walk it and actually take some time to savor the views.

Fishermans wharf is a nightmare. Not a decent place there to eat that is not overpriced . Totol tourist trap. I thought it was the first time I came here many years ago and my feelings have not changed one iota. I shudder to go down there even at the offer of a free meal when guests request to visit the wharf during a stay in the city.
