Default US Route 101 North, San Mateo to San Francisco time-lapsed video

Hi everyone,

Thought some of the members on here might be interested in watching. It's a 720p HD time-lapse of the drive from CA 92 in San Mateo to the Central Freeway/I-80 split in San Francisco. Includes some useful signs about SFO, and even some imagery of the San Francisco 49ers.

-Cheers,
Brent

Nice to not have to do the driving! Pretty rare for me to do it mid day like that.

Haha what do you know, it's FreewayBrent from youtube. I've seen a few of your videos already (and have posted a couple here on city data before), nice job on them. I like this one a lot:

Thank you! I've traveled that same route many dozens of times, but not in about a year, so it was interesting to watch it & try to notice any changes.

More importantly, your videos will gain a lot of historical value over the years.

Do you take requests?

How about 92 westbound, from the East Bay to Half Moon Bay, and then another one covering Hwy 1/PCH from the GGB to Santa Cruz?

Hey everyone, thanks a lot for the comments and feedback! I try not to post many of my videos on here, as I don't want to be seen as nothing but a spammer.

This is specifically for City-Data.com member "Rah"...I actually just released a new video last night, which showcases Part 3 of 3 along I-80 over the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Part 2 won't be recorded until next year, as Caltrans is currently in the midst of a 2 year reconstruction effort over Donner Summit.

To Utahhooligan: I actually might be returning to the Bay Area tonight, to visit friends and record some more footage over the weekend. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies. I'll keep your 2 requests in mind. I mainly wanted to spend a couple of days, recording every single interesting street around San Francisco, and eventually doing a 5 or 6 part series, featuring the streets of San Francisco. Depends on what I feel like doing, though. I may end up just recording a bunch of scenic roads around the Bay Area, instead.

Freeway, great stuff!! How do you do your recording? We tried to do a similar thing in the Hollywood Hills last year with a flexible tripod on the dash. The inclinations were so steep in some spots that the tripod would slip.
