Oh, that's strange, you should tell the people posting here that - because they've been saying that the homicide rate being triple that of L.A's doesn't matter, because it's relegated to the ghetto...

But I understand, Oakland clearly takes the crime rate very seriously, look at the progress y'all are making.

Firstly, violent crime is disproportionately concentrated in a handful of high-risk neighborhoods. Thus it's not citizens of the City of Oakland that are "3x times more likely", per se, it's the residents in high-risk neighborhoods that are affected by the homicide rate when all factors are properly considered. The residents of low-risk neighborhoods are not affected by the murder rate. Thus, how can citizens of Oakland be "3x times more likely".

Meaning, it is completely unfounded to say someone is "3x more likely", because it does not take into consideration the factors that affect individual crime risk. Factors and crime risks differ from city to city, but most importantly, from neighborhood to neighborhood.

Which is why criminologists and the FBI say crime rates differ more within cities than between them. By just looking at the data itself, you are being presented a simplistic and incomplete analysis, in other words, it is unfounded to say someone is "3x more likely".

Something tells me you dont care, and that's fantastic if you dont. but just know you have been proven wrong, because your arguments are invalid, ironically by the data you base your arguments from.

So what?

Most of us are totally unaffected by crime and homicides. The fact that you dont understand that is your problem. Who the hell cares if you need further clarification. Pray about it.

Yes, homicide and violent crime is down 4 straight years.

Now take a broom and go sweep some of the nastiness away from Skid Row.

I understand it, in fact, I specifically addressed it. Not my fault if you aren't actually reading my posts.
