my friend moved to chicago from the bay area (east bay) and everytime he visits and we go to the city, he can't shut the hell up about how much better it is than Chicago.

It's so funny reading posts from people who have never been someplace giving their opinion of it

I love SF & the Bay Area (been here for over 15 years) but this thread is so silly it needs a theme song at this point...
I think this one is perfect for the Chicagoans and others who have never bothered to visit SF/California/Oakland.... (yes, this song exhibits the freedom of speech that this country was founded upon) your delicate constitutions have been warned...rated R for language:

YouTube - Wild Light "California On My Mind"

enjoy!

I'm the exact opposite as your friend I was born and raised in SF then I went to Chicago and I found out how REAL people behave. It's funny how people are saying in the good old days when SF was down to earth WHAT like when was this, what planet are you from??. My apologies but San Francisco has never been down to earth

he lives on the south side which is as "real" as it gets... he got tired of worrying about not wearing his hat the wrong way or bein in the wrong place or wearin the wrong colors. if that's what "real" is i'll take these seattle hipster scumbags anyday at least they pose no threat to my safety, i can probably fight 5 at once and win.

I know, he was only born and raised in SF. What kind of experience is that?

Funny, because I was born and raised in SF too.

But i guess i can play the game like he does. Here it goes: Hong Kong has never been an outgoing place! (you know, since apparently we're generalizing entire cities, over the course of their entire histories, using human personality traits...)
