Well, yes. We love the New York football Giants in the Packers game tomorrow. And any time they play the Cowgirls.

The fans will love whoever represents them and they can identify with. I grew up in a Raiders/A's family then married into a 49'er/Giants family..haha. SJ is closer so who knows what I will do next?

Pro sports teams are taxpayer parasites. Communities chase after them with promises of taxpayer funded stadiums and other perks in the vain hope that the dollars spent by people who see them in person will somehow exceed the cost.

Raiders fans are brutal. The raiders can move to alaska as far as i care. Its also not affordable to attend a pro game anymore. They get you with high ticket prices, parking, food, water, beer & beverages. Greedy rats !!!

I don't want the Raiders back in L.A., despite being born and raised in Southern California, i refuse to be a Chargers fan or Raiders fan, i will still be a 49ers fan even if the Raiders moved back here, also, I don't get why there are more Raider fans in L.A. than there are in the Bay Area, Northern California, the Raiders have been in Oakland for more than half their history, the Raiders were in L.A. for only 13 years but they have been in the Bay Area for more than 35 years

Yea but people in Green Bay actually care what happens to their team. Midwesterners take sports as seriously as californians take the surf -snow reports.

For deliberately sabotaging the team's success, this ranking names Oakland A's owner Lew Wolff the WORST owner in Major League Baseball.
Quote:

In fact, in the six seasons from 1999-2004, the Oakland A’s had the second-most wins in the American League with 570. Further, in all of MLB, only the New York Yankees (585) and the Atlanta Braves (584) had more wins during that span. Oakland was the hotbed of the new Moneyball philosophy, and fans were stomping through the Coliseum at an average attendance rate of 1.96 million per season.

Everything seemed to be A’s-OK in the East Bay.

But that’s the whole point. Wolff has never wanted to stay in Oakland. He had their sight set on San Jose from the get-go.

In the meantime, while he was wolfing down revenue-sharing dollars from the rest of MLB, the Athletics owner was deliberately banishing Oakland’s fan base by trading away solid players for farm animals year after year after year. The former players the A’s sent away or didn't re-sign practically reads as an all-decade team of the 2000s.

The Athletics have continued that trend this past offseason. In a last-ditch effort to force themselves out of Oakland, the A’s have given up on the upcoming campaign, intentionally sabotaging themselves out of competition to feign weakness, which would—hopefully for Wolff—mean the A’s have nowhere to go but San Jose.

Calculatingly self-destructing? Purposely turning fans away? Giving up? Who does that?

Only the worst owner in all of Major League Baseball.

And I concur 100 Million percent.

Apparently that blogger has never heard of a sports team going into rebuilding mode.

There are lots of good and some bad things about Oakland, but I don't think a sports team really makes or breaks a city. I am an avid sports fan I will add, but I still think there is much more to a city than who plays baseball or football there. A college, that can be a different story..Good college sports bring big money to a school which in return helps the school. The only advantage to a good pro team might be revenue from the fans as they enjoy the dining, lodging, etc in the city, but this isn't all that much.
