We have the most beautiful geography, best weather and also the best job market in the country...even better than tax-payer sucking DC area.

Truly NorCal is the most superior part of USA. Poor Wall Street thug NYC is nowhere on the list!

San Francisco is certainly a nice spot but I don't think a SF blogger is necessarily the end of all authorities on the subject of superiority. I could be wrong.

Well, what do you know, we are over $15T in debt but DC is a boomtown. The bureaucracy continues to grow at the expense of the people and future generations of Americans....

I truly do love it here, and do think it's the best place (for me, key point!) to live in the country...

However, I can't help but think it's topics like these that give us our arrogant reputation...

If you're a 24 year old who just graduated from Stanford's computer science department and you get a job from your college roommate, then yeah it's a great job market. Otherwise you're going to have a lot of trouble finding a job. The job market here still sucks badly and is really imbalanced, and everyone is suffering from skyrocketing rents because a relatively small number of people are getting paid well.

Yes and it must be pointed out that the ranking is based on Metropolitan areas so the term 'San Francisco' actually means Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties.
