President William Howard Taft who weighed 335 lbs when he left the White House. He once visited the Mission Inn in Riverside and a special chair was made for him http://www.missioninnmuseum.com/coll...s/mov00005.htm

Yeah - if Newton does not care for me or the people around me, then we're doing something right.

I'm from the San Jose area, but I guess to someone like Gingrich, I might as well be from SF (since I'm pretty liberal on a lot of issues).

The funny thing is, SF used to be a somewhat Republican city (or at the very least, a two-party city), and the Bay Area had conservative, Republican-voting parts to it. But that has changed dramatically, of course. There are a variety of reasons for that, but the absurd, inane generalizations that the likes of Gingrich make certainly aren't winning Republicans votes here.

I find it beyond reprehensible, FWIW, that someone with Newt Gingrich's personal history has the gall to call gay people a "threat to marriage." People who live in glass mansions (since I'm sure Newt lives in a huge mansion in Virginia somewhere) shouldn't throw stones. What a shameless human being. And Republicans consider him a good candidate? Unbelievable. If I were a Republican, I wouldn't trust Newt as dog-catcher.

Most Republicans right now would just as well have Newt hauled away in a Dept. of Animal Care and Control truck. For his part, he has publicly acknowledged that he and his followers are not part of the Republican Establishment (well, no **** - they overwhelmingly voted to reprimand and fine him when he was Speaker of the House). But then, why claim to be a Republican if you don't want to be a Republican?

Mitt Romney is my guy, and has been since 2008. But I have been watching the debate and I love how Newt rips the liberal media -- who've clearly been protecting Barack Obama ever since he declared his candidacy.

That's rule no 454: When picking on SF doesn't work, blame everything on the "liberal media"
