Enjoy your trip, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. Many of us write reviews of restaurants, bars etc on yelp.com, this should be your go to source for finding great local spots.

Full disclosure: not much to see in SV. But you can go to the tech museum and the computer history museum.

My favorite underrated museums are the Oakland Museum in Oakland and the Cartoon Art Museum in SF.

Don't waste your time "exploring" SV. There is nothing there. Unless you like looking at office parks.

Not to mention highways and strip malls!

But yeah unless you're there for work, Silicon Valley isn't really worth a trip considering how much there is to do just in San Francisco, and Marin and the coast of San Mateo County are much more worth driving through before you consider going to SV.

Great, Thanks
I will look into the reviews on yelp for sure, thank you so much
We will explore SF and SV as this is a "do we want to stay in Hershey PA or move to CA(job in Menlo Park)" kind of a trip

Menlo Park is nice. I would also check out University Ave in Palo Alto. Los Altos is also a cute area too.

My favorite underrated museums are the Oakland Museum in Oakland and the Cartoon Art Museum in SF.
And the Google and Apple campuses.
Also Stanford campus and downtown Palo Alto.
Plus the Redwood forests in the Santa Cruz mountains.
And if you like good ethnic food, you'll find a much better quality of restaurants here in Silicon Valley for things like Chinese, Persian, Indian, Thai.
