I was looking for shared apartments in albany/el cerritos, but it's mostly a room in a shared house.

Where in East Bay are there the most young professionals sharing apartments?

Thanks!

Not very common in the east bay at all. Berkeley might have a few more, but you will mostly find shared houses.

Compared to Oakland, Berkeley has a lot of roommate rentals. Renting an apartment on your own is more expensive in Berkeley though, so maybe look for a studio in Oakland.

I'm a bit apprehensive about Oakland. Maybe Berkeley.

People are lying to you. Safe areas in Berkeley = Safe areas in Oakland. In fact they feel exactly the same. Berkeley and Oakland are very similar. Including crime distribution. But it is a lot easier to get around in Oakland than Berkeley. And there are more nicer apartments.

Richmond, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Haywierd, Ashland, all littered with apartments. Not sure I would want to live in most of them tho..

You could find something trendy in Oak or Berk, but you will pay a pretty penny for it. But it beats the alternative I suppose..

I'm serious. Even some of the posters on here have warned me away from Oakland.
