Default Furnitures District in San Francisco Bay Area

Hi, I recently purchased a house in San Francisco, and I am wondering where is the major furnitures district in San Francisco or places where most furniture, appliance, and vanity stores are located.

Thanks!

There is actually a furniture district in SF. It is along 8th/9th street near Bryant. These aren't big stores though and the selections may be limited. I would recommend Cost Plus world market but the closes one is in Daly City.

9th St., south of Mission. Mostly furniture though. There are other small clusters out near AT&T Park and Levi Square, but those seem to be more showrooms for people in the trade (architects & decorators).

There is a Cost Plus World Market at Fisherman's Wharf.

There's an IKEA in Emeryville.

Also a lot of furniture boutiques along Valencia in the Mission.

I can't name a district, but can offer a few stores that might interest you:

Antiques: (If you think you might like antique stuff for your house) McCarney's Furniture and Grand Central Station antiques. Also the San Francisco Antique and Design Mall, which seems to have moved since my last visit.

Furniture: My experience at Giorgi Brothers was good, and I'm partial to the look of Scandinavian Designs furniture. But I think that personal taste drives preference here. I didn't like much that I saw at Crate and Barrel. Others do.

The Emeryville Ikea, mentioned by Isebiel, gets tons of business on weekends. Very popular.
